"An absolutely STUNNING poem that vividly enunciates the strength of women in a society that restrains women!!"
Who sits on the throne? The boss of the house! Her name’s not unknown Disrespect her and she will rouse Your mother, sister, aunt and more They are people you should adore. They can do way more than a man Sometimes take on more than they can They won’t back down, hear their call: “Us? We can do it all!” She polishes the home, covered in jewels Disagree with them? Cause they make the rules “Don’t tell ME what to be!” You must be dainty, sweet and cute Play the violin, piano and flute Stay at home, cook and clean Stand straight and never lean THAT’S what you want me to be? WRONG! Watch me and see! We can run a country! and a family at the same time While still being lovely That can’t be a crime! We don’t listen to those who object Cause our powerful voice have the biggest effect.
