The sun glistened,
Sarah listened,
To the songs of the birds outside,
Her thumping heart was dancing inside,
As Eid was on this very same day!
🕋
She had saved up till today,
To buy the Nintendo she wanted to play!
Walking in the market with her mother,
Sitting in the dirt was a homeless brother,
With clothes that were ripped.
🏮
She saw the man as she skipped,
Eyes filled with pity.
“Do you so kindly have anything to spare, little pretty?”
Looking at her money then the man with pity,
She knew what she had to do.
“Thank you! May Allah bless you two!”
🕋
But now she could not pay,
For the Nintendo she wanted to play!
Sarah and her mother went back to the house,
Meanwhile her father was quieter than a mouse.
“Eid Mubarak! I have a surprise for you Sarah!”, her father said.
🏮
She opened the box on her bed,
And the clear label she read,
‘Nintendo!’, much to her surprise.
So, brothers and sisters,
And mothers and fathers,
If on the needy you take pity,
Allah will grant you blessings and mercy!
