Charms of the Lofty Month

Samira Ismail
Dec 26, 2024·1 min read

You come and you go.
All year we’ve been waiting
For your gust of tranquility.
You’re like a blistering propeller
Taking us on a fleeting,
Ethereal ride.

A long awaited journey
Through the calm,
Magical nights.
Elevating us to
The majestic,
The infuser of peace,
The sublime.

Why do you have to
Leave so soon?
Can you stay a little
Longer so that we may

Gaze in awe at your
Fulgent moon?

If you leave,
Can you leave behind
Your peace and charms?
Can we have a final hug
So that we may fall
Into the softness
Of your arms?
