Shatter me.
I feel the chills
Run down my spine
Spreading throughout my body
Like the winter cold.
Freezing me eternally.
For what seems like forever,
My breath quickens
Hands tremble,
Shaky breaths exit my mouth,
Tears begin to form,
And they silently fall,
As I lose my composure
I look down as my mind wanders with negativity
I glance up only to find myself looking back down again
The harsh words echo into the empty atmosphere
I flinch in response
Not knowing
What to say,
What to do,
What to think,
What to feel,
‘Your not enough, you never will be’
I feel like my heart shatter into a million pieces
That was it.
The final blow.
The warmth of the fire I felt between us
Gone.
Like a blown candle
The loud voice stops
Disappearing into the darkness
The cruel words still linger in my mind
Fresh and solid,
My heart feels too heavy
Tears continue to fall
As I drop to the ground
Clutching my chest in pain
Soft sobs break out
Filling the empty void
I never knew I could hurt so hard
Breathing was never hard,
Hands never trembled
Tears never fell
I try to calm down but I can't
I never the everlasting pain such minimalistic words could bring,
But now I do.
